IQF Cauliflower Organic and Conventional

Origin: Turkey

IQF cauliflower is made from fresh, clean, and healthy cauliflower heads (Brassica oleracea). The preparation involves trimming, cutting, washing, blanching, sorting, and thorough draining. Afterward, the cauliflower is frozen using proven commercial methods and stored at optimal temperatures to maintain its quality.

At Frozco, we proudly offer IQF cauliflower in various cuts, along with a diverse selection of other IQF fruits and vegetables, available wholesale and in bulk. IQF cauliflower refers to fresh cauliflower that has been cleaned, trimmed, and individually quick frozen (IQF). Packaged and sold frozen, it can be stored in the freezer for long periods, providing a convenient, ready-to-use ingredient that requires no additional preparation. With a mild, slightly nutty taste and a firm yet tender texture, IQF cauliflower is packed with fiber, vitamin C, and other essential nutrients.

Specifications

Processing
Cauliflower heads are delivered to the factory after processing at the trimming station. Each batch is sampled and inspected for foreign materials and physical defects. The cauliflower is then cleaned, cut, blanched, cooled, and frozen before being filled into bulk palletainers. Once frozen, samples are taken to ensure they meet the required specifications. The palletainers are then labeled and moved to cold storage, where they are kept at -18ºC until they are ready for packaging.
Packing
During packing, the cauliflower stalks are inspected before weighing and filling into blue poly lined cartons. The cartons are Best Before and Production date coded, check weighed, metal detected, palletised and stretch-wrapped before being returned to store at –18°C to await dispatch.

Nutrition and Health

Cauliflower

This popular member of the Brassica family, similar to cabbage, should be cooked with care to avoid overcooking. Cauliflower is believed to have originated in China and was later brought to the Middle East. The Moors introduced it to Spain in the 12th century, from where it eventually made its way to Ireland.

In terms of nutrition, cauliflower is a powerhouse. It’s low in calories—just 25 calories per 100 grams—but rich in essential nutrients. It’s an excellent source of vitamin C, providing about 77% of the recommended daily intake in a single serving. It also offers a good amount of fiber, folate, and potassium. Additionally, cauliflower contains antioxidants like glucosinolates and isothiocyanates, which have been linked to reduced inflammation and cancer prevention.
